在默认没有牛津逗号的世界，比如：The group consists of two engineers, Jack and John. 中，一般结构默认 x, y and z 的三者并列，但是当 x 的词意可以包括 y 和 z 的时候就会歧义，当 y 和 z 作为插入语的写法也是这样。

牛津逗号本质是插入语和并列结构的不清晰区分问题。没有牛津逗号并列结构会被当成插入语，有牛津逗号插入语又可能被当成并列结构。

在美国俚语中用来比喻鸡毛蒜皮或不值一提的小事，所以非必要不使用吧。
